After a string of three wins, The Southern Lee Cavaliers''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They suffered a rough 43-21 defeat at the hands of Fike.
Bud Woodard had an outrageously good game for Fike as he rushed for 302 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per carry. Woodard's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards. Josiah Artis also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Fike's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Yamir DaGraca and Jamari Hill who racked up four sacks between them.
Southern Lee's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Fike, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-3.
Southern Lee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fike will be playing in front of their home fans against Currituck County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Currituck County is ranked 137th, while Fike is ranked 115th).
