Abington Heights  took care of business in their home opener  (barely) on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the Emmaus Hornets  6-5. This was payback for the Comets, who suffered  a  6-5  loss the last time these two teams met.
 Laurenp Stalica was a major factor no matter where she played. She  struck out six batters over  eight innings while giving up  five earned runs off   eight  hits. Stalica was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Adrianna Condrad was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run and three  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April of 2024.
Having lost for the first time  this season, Emmaus  fell to 5-1.
 Looking ahead, Abington Heights will be playing at home against Scranton  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The  contest will  give Abington Heights their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Emmaus, they will head out to  face off against Liberty  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
