The Shaw Raiders and the Northside Patriots will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Shaw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Shaw narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Spencer 50-48. The victory was just what Shaw needed coming off of a 71-22 defeat in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shaw to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tiara Tucker, who scored 25 points along with four steals. The match was Tucker's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Quishyi Walcott was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Northside scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 74-33 win over Columbus on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Northside has managed all season.
Shaw's record is now 8-5. Northside's record now sits at 2-7.
Shaw came out on top in a nail-biter against Northside in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 57-55. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shaw since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
