Newsome and Alonso are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Wolves will challenge the Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Newsome 2.7, Alonso 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Newsome's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Tampa Bay Tech with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Wolves have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

JP GLASSFORD looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Newsome saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ISAIAH SANCHEZ, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Newsome always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Alonso walked away with it. They beat the Stingrays on Monday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-3. The Ravens haven't had any issues with the Stingrays recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Alonso also got a great performance from Julian Batista as he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts Batista has posted since back in March.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jordan Campos, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
The win snapped Newsome's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 17-6 record. As for Alonso, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.
Newsome came out on top in a nail-biter against Alonso when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
