On Wednesday, the McKinley Tech Trainers faced the Woodson Warriors in a battle between two of the state's top teams. McKinley Tech put the hurt on Woodson with a sharp 52-30 victory. The victory was just what McKinley Tech needed coming off of a 54-12 defeat in their prior matchup.
Leading McKinley Tech to victory were Jemima Bomoyi and Chiagoziem Njoku. Bomoyi dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals, while Njoku dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. Bomoyi is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamille Fisher, who scored five points along with two steals.
The victory got McKinley Tech back to even at 10-10. As for Woodson, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKinley Tech will challenge Eastern at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. McKinley Tech is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Woodson, they will head out on the road to face off against Jackson-Reed at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
