The Notre Dame Academy Irish Wolfhounds just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Atlanta International Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. Notre Dame Academy will be strutting in after a win while Atlanta International will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Covenant Christian Academy scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, Notre Dame Academy still came out on top. Notre Dame Academy took their matchup against Covenant Christian Academy 64-57. The win was just what Notre Dame Academy needed coming off of a 101-36 loss in their prior game.
Notre Dame Academy can attribute much of their success to Hiram Balthazar, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds, and Jakobi Henriques, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Henriques is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Will Borah, who scored five points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Atlanta International's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by Whitefield Academy 62-26. Atlanta International was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-9.
Notre Dame Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Atlanta International, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-20.
