The biggest upset of the week belonged to Northgate, who took down 75th ranked Concord, 28-20. Joe Pelletier threw for 105 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 35 yards in the win.
Clayton Valley's Joe Protheroe recorded the longest rushing play in Diablo Valley this season in his game against Ygnacio Valley last week. Protheroe scampered for 95 yards on the play and finished with 267 on the day as his team bested the Warriors.
The Minutemen's dynamic duo of Wyatt Marrow and Bryan Muonekwu proved tough for the Broncos to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Marrow threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns and Muonekwu had 69 yards receiving. Daniel Golden helped Concord's passing attack out by catching four balls for 54 yards.
Concord's Marrow and Jacob Daynes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Marrow has thrown for 1067 yards this season, while Daynes, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 22 catches for 346 yards. Protheroe from Clayton Valley leads the league in rushing with 1378 yards.
In 141 carries Olito Thompson has accumulated 956 yard this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Mt. Diablo takes on Northgate. The Red Devils are in fifth place, while Justin Lowell's team is in first place.
The Broncos moved up to 248 from 331 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Diablo Valley. Northgate climbed the ranks as a result of a 28-20 win over Brian Hamilton's team.
