The Clearfield Bison will venture away from home to take on the Richland Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Clearfield will be strutting in after a victory while Richland will be coming in after a defeat.
Clearfield had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Central on Monday. The Bison put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 11-1 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Clearfield got a massive performance out of Lily McBride, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave McBride a new career-high. Jordyn Lazauskas also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Clearfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central only posted an OBP of .238.
Meanwhile, Richland suffered their closest loss since March 18, 2025 on Monday. They fell just short of Somerset by a score of 5-3. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Alea Ladika made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle Ladika, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Richland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Clearfield, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
Richland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Clearfield has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Richland, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Clearfield's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
