Basketball Game Preview: Central Cabarrus Vikings vs. South Rowan Raiders

Central Cabarrus has gone 10-0 against South Rowan recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Central Cabarrus Vikings will be home for the holidays to greet the South Rowan Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Central Cabarrus is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.3 points per game this season.

Central Cabarrus is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Mooresville just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. The match between them and the Blue Devils didn't end well, with Central Cabarrus falling 86-72. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 49th).

Central Cabarrus' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Infinite Morrow, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards, and LarQuise Burse-Jones, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Morrow is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Kevonta' Martin, who posted 15 points.

Even though they lost, Central Cabarrus was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, South Rowan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 31st straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Northwest Cabarrus, falling 69-49.

Central Cabarrus now has a losing record at 3-4. As for South Rowan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything came up roses for Central Cabarrus against South Rowan when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured an 88-19 victory. In that contest, Central Cabarrus amassed a halftime lead of 61-15, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
