The Horizon Huskies suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Friday. Their tough 68-43 loss to Desert Edge might stick with them for a while. Horizon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Desert Edge apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Gavin Henss and Ryan Milner certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Henss scored 11 points, while Milner scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Horizon and nudges their season record down to 4-12. As for Desert Edge, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horizon and Casa Grande will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Casa Grande is ranked 176th, while Horizon is ranked 188th). As for Desert Edge, they will head out on the road to take on Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canyon View is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
