The Frontier Titans will venture away from home to face off against the Highland Scots at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Frontier 3.1, Highland 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Frontier took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Garces Memorial.

Taylor Sloss made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Sloss wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Freeborn, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Emma Parnell also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Highland fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Independence on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 5-4. The Scots' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Lilliana Garcia spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Madelyn Gonzalez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Nevaeh Rodriquez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
Frontier is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6-2.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Frontier hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Highland struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Frontier's way against Highland when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Frontier made off with a 9-1 victory. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Scots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
