AAA Region 3 recap November 5, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Swainsboro, who took down 127th ranked Jefferson County, 19-17.
The Tigers scaled the state rankings by moving to 313 from 339 this week, the biggest jump in AAA Region 3. Swainsboro climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Warriors 19-17.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Ken Eldridge's team's Korey Somerville and Michael Franklin have proven to be a lethal combination. Somerville has thrown for 427 yards this season, while Franklin has 5 catches for 127 yards. Marlek Lamb from Dodge County leads the league in rushing with 501 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jefferson County takes on Thomson. At the moment, JB Arnold's team is in second, while the Bulldogs are in third.
Washington County extended the longest winning streak in AAA Region 3 this week by beating the Indians, 62-16. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
