Temple Christian hasn't had much luck against Perry recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Pioneers will welcome the Commodores at 5:30 p.m. Temple Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Perry will be coming in after a defeat.
Temple Christian took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against North Baltimore, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pioneers won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 10-9. The Pioneers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Levi Williams and Clay Sawmiller did most of the damage at the plate: Williams got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Sawmiller went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijjah Graham, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Temple Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Perry suffered their biggest defeat since May 30, 2025 on Wednesday. They came up short against Allen East, falling 11-1.
Perry saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Cockerell, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Perry's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Temple Christian, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Temple Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Perry struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Temple Christian might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Perry in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Pioneers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
