After flying high against the Providence Catholic Provets last Thursday, the St. Augustine Knights came back down to earth. St. Augustine took a serious blow against the Barons on Tuesday, falling 63-21. St. Augustine has struggled against the Barons recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Saint Mary's Hall to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isabella (Beya) Chase, who scored 26 points along with five assists and four steals. Chase has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sedelia Wilson-larkin, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
St. Augustine dropped their record down to 3-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.3 points per game. As for Saint Mary's Hall, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 28-3.
St. Augustine will head out on the road to square off against the Flyers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Saint Mary's Hall, they will be playing at home against the Provets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence Catholic has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15.
