The Dallastown Wildcats fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 28-21 win over Spring Grove on Friday. Given Dallastown's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Spring Grove is ranked 293rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dallastown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Scott, who rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Jalen Cook was in the mix as well, providing Dallastown with two touchdowns.
Dallastown's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Colby Laughman and his three sacks.
Dallastown's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Spring Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dallastown will take on Red Lion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Red Lion is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Spring Grove, they will be playing at home against South Western at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Western is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
