The Turlock Bulldogs will challenge the Modesto Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Turlock took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Hughson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Turlock had just enough and edged out Hughson 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

The team relied heavily on AylA LAcerdA, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
Modesto never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Downey last Thursday. They blew past the Knights 10-4. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Brianna Rueda and Alyssa Ramirez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Rueda struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Ramirez pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave her a new career-low. At bat, Rueda scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Ramirez scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That stolen base was Rueda's first of the season.
In other batting news, Modesto got a massive performance out of Sonia Padilla, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that Padilla hit this season. Aaliyah Williams was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Modesto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Turlock's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Modesto, their win bumped their record up to 4-10.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Turlock hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Modesto struggles in that department as they've averaged .347. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Turlock took their victory against Modesto in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1. Will Turlock repeat their success, or does Modesto has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
