Football Recap: Bell Creek Academy Has No Trouble Against First Academy

First Academy kept up with Bell Creek Academy until halftime on Friday, but afterwards: not so much. The Panthers never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 22-0 victory. The matchup marked the Panthers' most dominant win of the season.

Bell Creek Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Euriah Benoit, who picked up 30 receiving yards and two TDs. An impressive showing, but Benoit really ramped things up playing D: he made five total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended three passes in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Bell Creek Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Benoit and Kyle Valdes. Another thorn in First Academy's side was Alijah Tilman, who picked up a sack and made 18 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Bell Creek Academy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-4. As for First Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Bell Creek Academy will head out to take on Foundation Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bell Creek Academy's defense better be ready for this one: Foundation Christian Academy has averaged an impressive 36 points per game this season. As for First Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Hernando Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' defense has only allowed 12.8 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
