The Bell County Bobcats will venture away from home to challenge the Harlan County Black Bears on Monday. Bell County will be strutting in after a victory while Harlan County will be coming in after a defeat.
It was a proper cat-fight when Bell County duked it out with Campbell County on Friday. The Bobcats never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.
Logan Greene made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other pitching news, Alex Creech looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Blake Burnett was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Bell County is undefeated when Burnett posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Ayden Smith also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Harlan County's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 17-5 to Clay County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Black Bears have suffered against the Tigers since March 19, 2022.
Brayden Morris was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Alex Creech, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Bell County's record is now 6-7. As for Harlan County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1.
Bell County came out on top in a nail-biter against Harlan County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Black Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
