Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Front Range Baptist to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adelae Gamet, who posted three points and six rebounds. Those six boards gave Gamet a new career-high. Abbie VanDenBerghe was another key player, going 6-for-15 to rack up 16 points.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mile High Academy). They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 63-17 win over STEM School Highlands Ranch. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Front Range Baptist better keep an eye on Addy Dodds. She was instrumental in Mile High Academy's win, going 8-for-20 on her way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Dodds has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jazel McDaniel, who put up seven points and 14 boards.
Mile High Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 19 consecutive games.
Mile High Academy pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.3 points over those games. As for Front Range Baptist, their win bumped their record up to 5-15.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Front Range Baptist has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 25 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Mile High Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Front Range Baptist didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Mile High Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 33-28 victory. Does Front Range Baptist have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mile High Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
