Wayne County is 8-2 against the Trojans since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Wayne County Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Collinwood Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Wayne County will be strutting in after a victory while the Trojans will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Wayne County has not done well against the Vikings recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Wayne County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-44 win over the Vikings. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wayne County.
Wayne County found their leader in underclassman Cayman Camfield, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Camfield has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Justice Bell, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Collinwood's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They lost to Hughes on the road by a decisive 50-36 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Collinwood has scored all season.
Wayne County's victory bumped their record up to 16-8. As for Collinwood, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Wayne County strolled past the Trojans in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 71-57. Does Wayne County have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
