Rhyder Miller Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, Pflugerville got the W thanks in part to Rhyder Miller playing the best football he has all season. Miller rushed for 211 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 32 receiving yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 53 yards.
Pflugerville Connally had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Miller it was a similar story. When Miller last faced the Cougars back in November of 2023, he rushed for 151 yards and a touchdown.

Luke Dunham continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his third-straight game with at least five passing touchdowns. He threw for 241 yards and six touchdowns on perfect 13-for-13 passing, and also rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 3.1 passing touchdowns per game.
This year, Dunham has thrown 28 touchdowns while averaging 292.8 passing yards per game.

Gary Jefferson Jr Delivers Best Performance of Season
Elgin was led to victory by Gary Jefferson Jr, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Jefferson Jr rushed for 89 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 75 yards.
The win got Elgin back to even at 5-5. Jefferson Jr and Elgin will take on Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Ladainian Merino produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Bastrop to the win on Friday. Merino rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
The win (which was Bastrop's seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-2. Merino and Bastrop will square off against Lanier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
