After flying high against the Apex Cougars last Friday, the Middle Creek Mustangs came back down to earth. The contest between Middle Creek and Green Level wasn't particularly close, with Middle Creek falling 56-40. Middle Creek has not had much luck with Green Level recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Middle Creek lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brandon Ihle, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasir Hall, who scored 13 points.
Green Level got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaac Ericksen out in front who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Ericksen posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Israel Eatman, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Middle Creek bumped their record down to 8-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Green Level, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.
Middle Creek will head out on the road to take on Panther Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Panther Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 371 points over their last five contests. As for Green Level, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Apex Friendship at 6:00 p.m. Apex Friendship will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Green Level is ranked 17th).
