Baseball Recap: Bellaire Has No Trouble Against Posen

Bellaire never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Posen Vikings. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Colin Bearup made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bellaire is 6-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-4-1 otherwise. Bearup was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josh Landis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Drake Koepke, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Bellaire and bumps their season record up to 9-5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Posen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-13.

As of now, neither Bellaire nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
