Sheridan is 1-9 against Delphi Community since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Blackhawks will look to defend their home field against the Oracles at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Sheridan came out on top against Carroll on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Blackhawks walked away with an 8-4 win over the Cougars.

Levi Gellert made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Whisman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Chance Spencer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Delphi Community, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Carroll 14-4 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Oracles, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Sheridan, Delphi Community also got a great game from a two-way player: Keygan Elliott. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Elliott was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Brett Huffman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Xaine Tessier, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Delphi Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Sheridan's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5. As for Delphi Community, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sheridan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Delphi Community struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Sheridan skirted past Delphi Community 8-6 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Do the Blackhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Oracles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
