After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Duanesburg, the Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons Golden Knights were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 53-40 victory over Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville. That's another feather in the cap for Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taylor Hayes, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Hayes has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jade Bonneau, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons' victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons will take on Argyle at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Argyle is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Northville at 7:00 p.m.
