After a string of three wins, Silverado's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against the Granite Hills Cougars, falling 17-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hawks have suffered since February 28th.

Aryhana Shyne and Valerie Beltran stepped up to the plate in a big way. Shyne scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Beltran scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Shyne has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Silverado's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Granite Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Silverado will look to defend their home field on Friday against Canyon Springs at 3:15 p.m. As for Granite Hills, they will square off against Adelanto at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.5 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
