Basketball Recap: Silver Lake Skates Past Franklin with Ease

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Silver Lake on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Franklin Flyers out of the water with a 67-31 final score. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Silver Lake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lane Conway led the charge by putting up 26 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Conway has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Landon Duester was another key player, going 8 for 13 on his way to 19 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Silver Lake was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Franklin still got an impressive performance from Caiden Peterman, who went 6 of 14 en route to 15 points. The dominant performance gave Peterman a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rj Largent, who posted six points.

The victory (which was Silver Lake's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-4. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.6 points per game. As for Franklin, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Silver Lake will host Sumner-Eddyville-Miller at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Silver Lake has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Franklin has already played their next game (against Kenesaw), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
