Social Circle has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Oglethorpe County Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Social Circle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Social Circle came up short against Prince Avenue Christian and fell 60-47. Social Circle has not had much luck with Prince Avenue Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Social Circle's loss came about despite a quality game from Jada Hyman, who scored 30 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hyman has scored all season. Zikierra Stewart was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, Oglethorpe County had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 60-26 win over Jasper County. Oglethorpe County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season.
Social Circle has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Oglethorpe County, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Social Circle lost to Oglethorpe County on the road by a decisive 60-43 margin in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can Social Circle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
