Red Lion is a perfect 4-0 against Carlisle since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. Red Lion will look to defend their home field against Carlisle at 12:00 p.m. Red Lion's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Carlisle's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Red Lion is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Eastern York on Thursday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Knights.
Ben Martin was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk).
At the plate, Red Lion saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Steven Bowman, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Carlisle is still winless after their contest against Gettysburg on Thursday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Warriors. One positive for the Thundering Herd, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Lucas Ream led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bradyn Sober, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Even though they lost, Carlisle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Red Lion's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Carlisle, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Red Lion took their win against Carlisle in their previous meeting back in May of 2019 by a conclusive 10-1. Does Red Lion have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carlisle turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
