Jesus Rodriguez made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Alex Pensado was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lennox Huwa, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Holyoke lost 12-2 to Akron on Tuesday.
Holyoke saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tomas Estrada, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Yuma's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Holyoke, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
Yuma's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's game. The Indians have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Holyoke, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Yuma continue to outrun the ball?
Yuma got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Holyoke by a conclusive 16-0 score. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
