There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. The action included a dizzyingly high 150-point combined score from Little Rock Christian Academy and Maumelle.
Welcome
Say hello to Smackover: the team broke into the power rankings at the 23rd position after its notable last-week performance. Everything went its way against Bismarck as it secured a 66 - 6 win. The MaxPreps rankings were spot on as they projected Smackover as the clear winner.
Can't Touch This
Conway managed to bank 229 more yards than its opponent Catholic last week, and going the extra distance paid off. Conway put the hurt on Catholic with a conclusive 59 - 14 victory. That 45-point margin marks the most Conway has won by all season. Jovoni Johnson deserves a lot of credit in the win. He tossed for three touchdowns and rushed for two more, a performance good enough to make him one of the top players in the power rankings last week.
No Stoppin 'Em
The Little Rock Christian Academy offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It had all the answers against Maumelle, winning 87 - 63. The Maumelle defense has struggled this season (giving up an average of 31 points per game), and Little Rock Christian Academy took advantage of that. The combined 150-point effort made this the highest-scoring game in the power rankings for the week.
Game of Inches
The title of the most exciting match of the week goes to the clash between West Memphis and Pine Bluff. West Memphis won a game that couldn't get any closer, slipping by Pine Bluff 24 - 23. Even if it didn't bump West Memphis up the rankings, the win at least kept the team from dropping.
