Hadley Gillum and Seth Derr provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Bennington. The longest such play in Mid-Continent this season, the connection resulted in 75 yards.
Phillipsburg extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating More Prep-Marian, 59-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Plainville's dynamic duo of Gillum and Connor Collins proved tough for the Bulldogs to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gillum threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns and Collins had 107 yards receiving. Dalton Werner helped Plainville's passing attack out by catching one ball for 35 yards.
Blake Hudson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Ellis topped Wichita County. He completed five passes for 72 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 175 yards. Hudson's favorite target this week was Cadyn McCoy, who caught one pass for 43 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Gillum and Trevor Axelson the Cardinals have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Gillum leads the league in passing with 394 yards, while Axelson has rushed for 616 yards this season. Phillipsburg's Derr leads the league in receiving yards with 276 on six catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Plainville takes on Smith Center. At the moment, Joe Simon's team is in fourth, while the Redmen are in third.
Jb Covington's team took down the Monarchs 59-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Justin Juenemann in the win.
