The Verdugo Hills Dons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Monroe on the road to the tune of 94-52. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 60-26.
Leading Verdugo Hills to victory were Gianmarco Figueroa and William Gharabekyan. Figueroa dropped a double-double on 31 points and 13 rebounds, while Gharabekyan dropped a double-double on 31 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gharabekyan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Garik Yepremyan, who scored eight points along with five assists and three steals.
Verdugo Hills is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Monroe, they dropped their record down to 8-15 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Verdugo Hills won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Grant at 3:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Monroe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Poly at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
