Last Tuesday, North Harrison ended up a good deal behind Corydon Central and lost 43-27. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North Harrison in their matchups with Corydon Central: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, North Harrison had strong showings from Grace Goldman, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds, and Olivia Brown, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Evansville Memorial beat Evansville North 60-54 on Thursday. Given Evansville Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Evansville North is ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Evansville Memorial found their leader in underclassman Rylee Canaan, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Canaan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Browning, who scored 11 points along with six assists.
North Harrison has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Evansville Memorial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.
