Valley Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Apache Junction a 28-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Leigha Kremlacek and Taya Clausen made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Kremlacek tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Clausen tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Kremlacek scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Clausen scored a run while going 1-for-1. That's the most hits Kremlacek has posted since March 1st.

In other batting news, Sophie Kercsmar was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, eight RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Makay Fraley was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Valley Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .857. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meredith Whitehurst spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and ten unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Claire DuCkworth was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigale Trask, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Valley Christian's victory bumped their record up to 13-2-1. As for Gilbert Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Gilbert Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Valley Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .420. It's a different story for Gilbert Christian, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Valley Christian's hitters?
