Meanwhile, American Heritage put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Trinity Christian Academy with points to spare, taking the game 78-61. Given American Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Trinity Christian Academy is ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brendan Gerard continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 33 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xander Gerard, who scored 22 points along with 6 assists.
American Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for American Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
The Patriots came up short against the Stallions when the teams last played back in January, falling 47-41. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
