After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Reed, the McQueen Lancers were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They walked away with a 67-55 win over Galena. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading McQueen to victory were Kade Snyder and Alex Hancock. Snyder dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Hancock scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Hancock is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Kanigh Snyder, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
McQueen's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Galena, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McQueen will take on Bishop Manogue at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Bishop Manogue focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday. As for Galena, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spanish Springs at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Spanish Springs is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
