AAAA Region 3B recap October 22, 2013
Butler moved up to 412 from 446 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAAA Region 3B. The Bulldogs were able to move up by besting Cross Creek 18-0.
Burke County added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Glenn Hills, 48-22. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Bears.
Academy of Richmond County's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jeff Jones threw for 20 yards and Britto Tutt had 20 yards receiving. On the ground Q Ellis chipped in 99 yards. Christian Barnes helped Academy of Richmond County's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 12 yards.
The Musketeers' dynamic duo of Jones and Tutt proved to be unstoppable against Hephzibah, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Barnes helped Academy of Richmond County's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 12 yards.
Ellis was a passing and rushing force as Academy of Richmond County defeated the Rebels.
The Spartans' Santo Nina and Earlmonquez Cobb have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Nina has thrown for 601 yards this season, while Cobb has 18 catches for 335 yards. Chris Hughes' team's Travis Beatty leads the league in rushing yards with 545.
As it stands, the Razorbacks are in fourth, while Glenn Hills is in second.
Tim McClain's team lost to Burke County 48-22 last week, the largest margin of any game. Elroy Maloyd was a bright spot for the Spartans, as he in the loss.
