Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Silsbee's 14th in Last 16 Outings

Silsbee had won six straight home games and Jena Warden did her part to make it seven on Tuesday. The Silsbee Tigers really took it to the West Orange-Stark Mustangs for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-32 win thanks in part to Warden, who went 10 of 19 on her way to 22 points along with five assists and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Chrystan Tyler, who posted four points. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024.

Silsbee is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for West Orange-Stark, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-18.

Silsbee will face off against Vidor at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Silsbee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Vidor likes a good challenge. As for West Orange-Stark, they will square off against Jasper at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Orange-Stark is facing Jasper at the right time seeing as Jasper is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
