NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas -
Richland (North Richland Hills, Texas) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Brandon Maine threw a touchdown to
Adrien Itoka with 9:00 left, bringing the team to victory over
Keller (Texas) 30-23.
The Indians pulled ahead on a touchdown run by
Dalton Mills, and subsequently went into halftime leading 17-14. The Rebels took the lead for good with a touchdown pass by Maine to Itoka in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring eight points in the third, Richland still trailed by five points going into the fourth quarter. But eight points in the fourth helped RHS pull out the victory.
The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which Keller took, 40-13.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the North Richland Hills school, which was coming off a 42-14 defeat at the hands of Northwest in its previous game. The loss comes after Keller defeated Timber Creek 31-13 last week.
