The Roosevelt Rough Riders are taking a road trip to square off against the Orange Cove Titans at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Roosevelt took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Firebaugh as they made off with a 26-1 victory. The Rough Riders have beaten the Eagles the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

Melaney Ortiz made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Tamia Crawford was incredible, firing off three triples, four runs, and two stolen bases while going 5-for-5. Another player making a difference was Alicia Maldonado, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Orange Cove got the win against Mt. Whitney on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-3.
Like Roosevelt, Orange Cove also got a great game from a two-way player: Daisy Regalado. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Regalado was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashley Garcia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. Kendra Talingo was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs.
Roosevelt's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-1-1. As for Orange Cove, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
