Softball Recap: North Stanly Falls Short of West Stokes in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Stanly can now relate to. They fell 5-2 to the West Stokes Wildcats on Wednesday. The Comets' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Sophia Crist spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, North Stanly saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Speight, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

North Stanly's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for West Stokes, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-5.

North Stanly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Stokes, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Randleman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Tigers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
