If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Fort Dodge. They will challenge Sioux City West on the road at 12:00 PM on Friday. Fort Dodge don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
If Fort Dodge were riding high off their 51-13 takedown of Roosevelt two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Fort Dodge were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Friday, as they fell 44-49 to Ankeny Centennial. Fort Dodge's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Sioux City West, and their contest last Thursday only extended their streak of losses to four. They took a serious blow against Southeast Polk, falling 6-77.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a loss, both will be hungry for the victory. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
