Shadow Mountain has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Greenway Demons at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Shadow Mountain is ranked 300th, while Greenway is ranked 282nd).
Last Monday, Shadow Mountain was beaten by Paradise Honors 74-45. Shadow Mountain has struggled against Paradise Honors recently, as their game on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Shadow Mountain got a solid performance out of Pierce Rogers, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Cory Lamb-Jones, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Greenway, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They fell 51-44 to Verrado on Wednesday.
Shadow Mountain bumped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Greenway, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-9.
Shadow Mountain barely slipped by Greenway in their previous meeting back in January, winning 45-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shadow Mountain since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
