This season hasn't been kind to The Udall Eagles, who are still winless after their ninth match. They took a serious blow against Pretty Prairie on Thursday, falling 86-52. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.
Gage Bowers was his usual excellent self, rushing for 360 yards and nine touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 35 yards and a touchdown. Bowers is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played.
Udall's defeat was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Central and 9-1 South Sumner [Caldwell/South Haven] (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 57.3% over those games). As for Pretty Prairie, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-7.
Udall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pretty Prairie also has no future games currently scheduled.
