The Victory Christian Academy Storm will challenge the Frostproof Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Victory Christian Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Frostproof will be coming in after a loss.
On Thursday, Victory Christian Academy made easy work of Davenport and carried off a 10-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Storm.
Landon Cuzzone made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cuzzone was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other pitching news, Micah Broton looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits over four innings pitched.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Collin Strickland, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Aiden Flannery, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Victory Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Frostproof was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-2 to Four Corners, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Frostproof also got a good showing from Edusbel Guardado, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.
At the plate, Ricky Wilson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two triples and one run. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Carson Joyner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Victory Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Frostproof, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
