Delaney Myers and Matilynn Smull certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Myers went 8 of 17 on her way to 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Smull dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Myers' evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.
Brylee Minnick was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds for Decatur Community. Minnick is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren May, who posted 11 points and three steals.
St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Decatur Community, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 9-5.
St. Francis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-31 defeat against Rawlins County on the 31st. As for Decatur Community, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-25 loss against Wallace County on the 31st.
