Softball Recap: Decatur Wins Going Away Against Pocomoke

While Decatur put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Pocomoke. The Seahawks put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 16-0 victory. The Seahawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Madison McGinnis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Maddie Donoway was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Bailey Griffin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one double.

Decatur's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Pocomoke, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Decatur will challenge Sussex Central at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pocomoke, they will square off against Snow Hill on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.75 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
