The Calvary Day Cavaliers extended their postseason success on Friday against the Wesleyan Wolves. They were the clear victor by a 42-21 margin over the Wolves. Calvary Day's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
It was another big night for Jake Merklinger, who rushed for 80 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 341 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Arnold, who picked up 108 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Wesleyan's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jamie Tremble, who picked up 105 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Ben Brown who threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns. Brown has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last five times he's played.
Even if they lost, Wesleyan's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Calvary Day's QB won't forget Connor Roush anytime soon given Roush sacked him twice.
Calvary Day's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Wesleyan, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
Calvary Day will square off against Cedar Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Grove will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Wesleyan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
