The Carolina Forest Panthers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Socastee Braves at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Carolina Forest came up short against Sumter and fell 56-46. Carolina Forest has not had much luck with Sumter recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Sammy McGuire put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Daniel Allen, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Socastee's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 40-28 to Conway. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Socastee has scored all season.
Carolina Forest's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-11. As for Socastee, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Carolina Forest came out on top in a nail-biter against Socastee in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, sneaking past 46-43. Does Carolina Forest have another victory up their sleeve, or will Socastee turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
